If you are looking for that special venue to hold your meetings, training, small conference, workshops, or product launch we invite you to consider Lake House Arts Centre. Impress your clients, indulge your staff, friends and co-workers, and experience the unique setting of our stunning heritage buildings and grounds. Built entirely of heart kauri in the late 1800s, and relocated to Barry’s Point Reserve in 1996 from Takapuna Beach, our vibrant arts centre has been gracefully restored. The stunning gardens, free parking, conveniences, and accessibility to Auckland City makes Lake House Arts Centre an ideal venue for hire.

Lake House grounds comprise seven different spaces including the delightful onsite Café which can be hired after hours, and can cater for morning/afternoon tea and lunch. Room hire also provides access to the Lake House grounds which make the loveliest setting for outdoor functions and activities.

The Tindall Room – Let’s Discuss

Tindall is our corporate offering; a function room perfect for meetings, presentations, conferences or private lunches. A bright, sunny room, coupled with our new comfy red chairs, this room is ideal for bringing out fresh ideas in people. Round-table meetings for up to 20 people, or 35 people theatre-style, this room can be accessed either by the internal House corridor, or by the front veranda.

This room is comfortable in both summer and winter, thanks to the heatpump/air conditioning unit, and has a wall-mounted whiteboard and black-out blinds. 

This room also has access to our digital whiteboard ($25+GST per hour) as well as wifi, and tea and coffee making facilities. 

Dimensions 6.6m x 4m.

Features: whiteboard, tables, chairs, black-out blinds, heatpump/air conditioning unit. Wheelchair accessible.

$32.50+gst per hour/$27.50+gst for not for profits

 

The Hayes Studio – Gather Round

A studio located inside the House with an external door to the back deck, this is flexible space for functions, workshops, meetings, private lunches, educational classes…pretty much anything you like. With kitchen facilities in this room (including fridge, microwave and sink) as well as a heatpump/airconditioning unit, wall-mounted white board, projection screen and black-out blinds, your wish is our command with this studio.

Up to 20 people around tables, or 40 people theatre-style.

This room also has access to a digital whiteboard ($25+GST per booking), as well as wifi, and tea/coffee making facilities.

Features: whiteboard, sink, fridge, microwave, trestle tables, chairs, heatpump/air conditioning unit, black-out blinds, TV screen, direct access from outside. Wheelchair accessible.

H&R4 – Creativity Is Life

Studio 4 is our largest room available for hire, and our  most versatile. A sunny space located in the separate barrack building behind the main House, it can hold up to 30 people when used as a classroom, or up to 60 people for meetings or conferences. 

2 sets of double doors open this room out onto the deck, overlooking our beautiful grounds.

This room contains a sink, stools, ceiling heaters and trestle tables for art activites. Chairs are available on request.

HR4 is a great space for painting, art and craft, dance and movement classes, birthday parties, as well as meetings and conferences. Your imagination is the limit with this room! 

Dimensions 5.4m x 10.5m.

Features: whiteboard, projector screen, sink, heaters, trestle tables, stools, black-out blinds, easels. Wheelchair accessible.

H&R3 – Let’s Get Messy

Studio 3 is a smaller studio, also located in the separate barrack buildings behind the main House, and is ideal for “messy” works. This room boasts strong benches and pottery wheels, and is often used for clay and mosaic classes. Up to 15 people can fit in this studio, and it contains ceiling heaters and messy sinks. 

This studio has shelf space for created masterpieces to dry.

Think ceramics, pottery, clay, sculpture, mosaics, carving – or however you like to make mess!

Please note there are no kitchen facilities in this room.

 

Features: solid benches, stools, messy sink, pottery wheels, heaters. Wheelchair accessible.

Becroft Gallery – Sophisticated and Classy

Our art gallery is available for those larger functions or social gatherings. With an exhibition always on, your guests will have a lovely setting with lots of conversation starters right there in the room. This room has two sets of double doors that open out onto our front veranda for indoor/outdoor flow for those warm evenings.

Along with wifi, and access to our digital whiteboard and/or wine glasses (for additional costs), this light and airy space is more versatile than you might imagine. Meetings, presentations, sophisticated celebrations, the gallery is available for up to 60 people from 3pm on weekends and from 4pm during weekdays.

Features: tables and chairs are available on request. Wheelchair accessible.

H&R2 – Teach, Learn, Create

H&R2 is a new room that has become available for hire for art teachers who wish to run their own classes. There is space to store supplies however it is a shared space so respect and kindness is expected.

This room is only available at selected times for Art Teachers who wish to run their own classes. 

Features: Tables, stools, messy sink. This room is has quite a large step up into it so not easily wheelchair accessible. 

$17.50+gst per hour

 

Member’s Cafe – After Hours Events

Our cafe has a lovely room full of tables and chairs, so ideal for smaller gatherings or meetings after hours. With art on the walls and a nice atmosphere, this room is the hassle-free, simple space you’re after.

Our only request is that tables and chairs are put back to where they were if you do move them. Wheelchair accessible. 

$32.50+gst per hour/$27.50+gst for not for profits
